Jagan Mohan Reddy speaks at Jammulamadugu

Jagan speaks at a public meeting in Jammulamadugu. Claims YSR the reason for Congress' success at national level.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy speaking to addressing his followers and activists said that the Congress came to power in Centre twice due to his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy. In an emotional speech, he said that despite many hurdles created to him for his Odarpu Yatra, he maintained tolerance but could not tolerate the efforts made to divide his family. That is the moment when he decided to quit the Congress, he added.
He expressed confidence to win the by-elections in Kadapa and Pulivendula. The young leader appealed the support of the people and his supporters for his ensuing success. In Dhawad, he unveiled the statues of his father late Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
G Ramesh a staunch supporter of Jagan got elected as Sarpanch for the Viswanadhapuram Panchayat in Geesukonda Mandal in Warangal district. Former Minister Konda Surekha termed this as the first victory for Jagan in the state.

CM creates guest house problems for YS Jagan

he arrangements for the two day fast by YS Jagan which is scheduled for tomorrow is going in full swing. However the Kiran kumar reddy's government is trying to foil the Jagan's deeksha pouncing on every opportunity.

Since one week Ambati Ranbabu and Boomana Karunakar reddy is supervising the arrangements of the deeksha site and are using the Zilla parishad guest house for their day- today activities.Eventhough the ZP guest house was being used since one week for meeting various leaders and cadre the issue has been taken into notice yesteraday by the CM office(CM peshi).

The ZP guest house office recieved a letter from the CM peshi warning them to evict the occupants and cut off the power for the guest house. The CM peshi also questioned the guest officials the motive behind alloting the government ZP guest house to party activities.

Meanwhile Ambati Rambabu has reacted sharply to the CM peshis letter and said that it is the conspiracy of Kiran kumar reddy to foil the Jagan's deeksha. Are we doing any illegal activities send us out he questioned the government.Inspite of all these shortcomings we will make the deeksha successful he claimed.

It is heard that some congress leaders have managed to get the ZP guest house for Jagan's camp activities.

Rajasekhar&Jeevita bye-bye to Congress

Film actor Rajasekhar and jeevitha has resigned from the Congress party. They have called a press meet to announce their exit from the Congress.

Rajasekhar expressed dissatisfaction over the way the congress treated the YSR's family.YS Rajasekhar reddy has single handedly brought the congress party to power in 2004 and 2009 but the High command has ingonred his contribution and left his family mercilessly claimed Rajasekhar.

We have joined the Congress because of YSR and his commitment to the people but now we are quitting it because his son YS Jagan is no more in the party rajasekhar said.

Rajasekhar and jeevita expressed their willingness to join Jagan's party. The people are going to be benifited only with the Jagan's party and the days for the congress party in the state is counting claimed Rajasekhar.

Eventhough Rajasekhar and jeevita joined Congress during the YSR's regime, they were not really given any position in the party and used them only to counter Chiranjeevi.

It remains to be seen whether Rajasekhar and Jeevita will be used by Jagan just to counter Chiranjeevi or will he give them any responsibility?

YS Jagan tampering Chiranjeevi's train!

Well, till now only the Congress is facing the brunt of YS Jagan's luring of their MLA's.But not anymore, the Congress will be soon joined by chiranjeevi who is also feeling the repurcussions of Jagan.

Today Jagan has made a private visit to PRP leaders Bhuma Nagireddy and MLA Shoba nagireddy house in kurnool and had a closed door discussions with them.Later Congress MLA Katam Ramboopal reddy and PRP MLA Katam Ramreddy too attended the dinner and had discussions.

Later speaking to the media Bhooma's family and PRP MLA Katam Ram reddy pledged their support for Jagan and vowed to join his party after it is formed.I am ready to resign from PRP and MLA post and join Jagan claimed PRP MLA Katam Ramreddy emotionally.

This revelation by the PRP MLA's will surely lead to high blood pressure for Chiranjeevi and it remains to be seen how many MLA's(bogies) will be left in his side(train) after Jagan's party becomes reality!!

Will Jagan’s New Party Also Have Tricolour?

Will the new political party, believed to be floated by Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the days to come have the same tricolour flag of the Congress?
This is the speculation doing rounds in the political circles, after watching an incident at Guntupalli village of Pisipalli mandal in Prakasam district on Monday. As part of the Odarpu Yatra, Jagan visited this village and hoisted the tricolour flag as per the request of the local leaders. Interestingly, the flag had neither the Congress symbol – Charkha, nor the Ashok Chakra of the national flag. It was simply a tricolour flag with saffron, white and green.
One does not know why Jagan had hoisted this flag, but it led to widespread speculations that it could be the party flag of his proposed political party, in the event of he being expelled from the Congress. Already, a party called YSR Congress Party, has been registered with the State Election Commission on a benami name; and who knows, it might even become the official name of the Jagan party, if the speculations are to be believed!

Jagan's AP coast tour shakes Cong

Hyderabad: Former Congress MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's tour of coastal Andhra is sending ripples in the ruling Congress party, with some legislators coming out openly to support him.
After his visit to Krishna district triggered cracks in the ruling party, late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's son Wednesday began the tour of East Godavari district to meet the farmers whose crops were damaged in recent rains.
Jagan, as the young leader is popularly known, is not only attracting huge crowds but also local leaders of the Congress.
That the ruling party is worried over the turn of events is evident from the meeting Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy had with two legislators Tuesday to persuade them not to sail with Jagan and even warned them of possible disciplinary action by the party high command.
One of the legislators, N. Sesha Reddy, told Kiran Kumar that his supporters were his 'high command' and he can't go against their wish. Defying the party, he even received Jagan when the latter arrived in Rajahamundry town on Wednesday morning.
"I am ready to do whatever Jagan wants me to do. I am even ready to leave the party," the rebel legislator said.
Former minister and legislator P. Subhash Chandrabose was among several other party leaders who came out to receive the former Kadapa MP.
According to political analysts, Jagan, who quit the Congress and also as MP last month and announced his decision to float a new party in 45 days, is testing the waters by undertaking a tour of three districts in coastal Andhra.
Prominent Congress leaders in Krishna district were holding meetings to chalk out their future course of action as they were under pressure from their cadres to switch their loyalties to Jagan.
Buoyed by the public response in Guntur and Krishna districts in the last four days, Jagan has even announced that he would undertake a two-day fast from Dec 21 to demand the government to come to the rescue of farmers.
While resigning from the Congress to protest the 'conspiracy' by the leadership to divide his family, Jagan stated that he was leaving alone and would not do anything to topple the government.
However, by not asking his loyalist legislators to quit, the young leader is keeping the party confused about his strength.
He is believed to have the support of 18 to 20 legislators and his supporters are confident that the numbers will grow in the coming days.
Political analysts believe Jagan would wait to mobilise more support among legislators before making any move to destabilise the government.
The Congress has 156 legislators in the 294-member Andhra Pradesh assembly. It also has plans to take the support of Praja Rajyam Party (18 legislators) and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (7) if Jagan pulls out 20-25 loyalists.

Jagan on 48-hr fast

Vijayawada: Former Kadappa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's will observe a 48-hour fasting to focus on the issues of farmers who were affected in the cyclone that hit Andhra Pradesh, official sources said today.
Reddy, who conducted an intensive tour of the cyclone-affected districts, interacted with the farmers and they complained to him that the administration failed to support farmers who incurred huge losses from the cyclone, they said.
They also complained to him that the state government has totally failed to protect the interests of the farmers in the cyclone-affected state.
On this, Reddy reacted sharply and at the end of his tour on Monday at Machilipatnam, announced that unless the government came forward to settle the issues of farmers in the cyclone-affected areas he would observe fasting for 48-hours.
Reddy also demanded the government to waive the interest on crop loans and reschedule the loans for the cyclone affected farmers.

Ex minister resists the lure of YSJagan

Since the resignation of the YS Jagan from the congress, his aides are busy enticing the Ex MLA's and Ministers who has considerbale image in their constituencies. They have already become successful in attracting some leaders even from the opposition parties.

It is a known fact that couple of days back senior leaders and Ex congress ministers of Krishna district have met in Nehru's house to discuss about the Jagan's issue. The meet was called off without any conclusion but today it looks like Krishna leaders is trying to assert themselves.

Mandali Buddhaprasad has met his followers and leaders in his home town Avanigadda to listen to the opinions and decide the future course of action. It is learnt many have said to Mandali not to go with Jagan and remain in the Congress.Having taken all the opinions he has made a statement which will surely bring cheer to state Congress.

Mandali said that my father Mandali Krishna rao garu had remained faithful to the party till the end and it is not good on my part to spoil that reputation.Congress has given us the due respect and i want to remain with it he claimed. And Mandali gave a piece of advise to his followers by saying 'those of you who want to go with Jagan can go at your own will'.

Meanwhile Lagadapati's mediations to stop Jaggayyapeta Ex MLA Samineni Udhayabanu has failed.Samineni reportedly is adamant on his decision to join YS Jagan party.

YS Jagan smokes out Veterans and Losers

Jagan's tour of Krishna and Guntur districts has created inferno of sorts in the Congress party with many leaders willing to jump in his camp.

Many erstwhile leaders and who lost in the elections are having closed door meetings to chalk out plan of action ie whether to remain in the parent party or go with the Jagan. Some leaders are reportedly working long hours guessing the effect of jagan on the A.P's electorate.

Recently Ex ministers Mandali Buddhaprasad,Pinnamaneni Venkateswararo,Samineni Udhayabhanu met in the house of Devineni Nehru to discuss the issue of Jagan and his new party.Sources say that Samineni and Pinnamaneni were positive about joining Jagan but rest are of the opinion to go for a wait and watch policy as of now.Sources say that Vangaveeti Radha has also sent feelers to Jagan about his intentions and this is the reason which is making Devineni to resort for wait & watch policy,as they say two swords cannot fit in one box.

The joining of Makineni Pedarattaiah a veteran leader of TDP into Jagan's group is seen with suspicion by the people. It is a known fact that Makineni is a just and upright leader and he did not make any money by illegal means as a minister.

Infact he had expressed his anguish many times in discussions by saying that he did not earn anything inspite of being a minister but he was dismayed at which young leaders are making crores of money these days.
So,is the lure of money did the trick on Makineni Pedarattaiah?question many.

Reports say many Ex and Lost leaders from Congress and other parties are in the pipeline sending feelers and waiting for their turn to join Jagan

Jagan flexi board kicks up a row in Anaparthi

ANAPARTHI (EAST GODAVARI): A controversial flexi board put up by Jagan fans created a furore in the town on Tuesday with dalits taking strong objection to the portrayal of minister P Shankar Rao.

Sources said dalit leaders are planning to stage a dharna during Jagan's tour of Anaparthi on Wednesday. They said Shankar Rao, a dalit, was insulted by showing him as a dog along with two other senior leaders -- K Keshava Rao and V Hanumantha Rao -- guarding Sonia Gandhi in the board, which had sprouted in Kutukuluru village in Anaparthi constituency in East Godavari.

The flexi board seeks to present the contrast between `banisatvam' (slavery) and `atma gouravam (self-respect).' While three dogs are shown under the title of `slavery' carrying the pictures of Shankar Rao, Keshava Rao and Rajya Sabha member VHR kneeling in front of Sonia, the caption `self-respect' shows the pictures of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and his son Jagan greeting the public.

Dalits expressed ire at the flexi board by staging rasta rokos and shouting slogans against the Reddy lobby. The police immediately removed the flexi board. "The flexi board has caused deep anguish among our community," said Navala Chinna Rao of Mala Mahanadu. A lawyer Pinpe Ramakrishna meanwhile has demanded police to arrest the accused under the SC/ST (Atrocities) Prevention Act.

Curiously, another group in Mala Mahanadu flayed the rival group for blowing the issue out of proportion and expressed support for Jagan. "Police have promised to take action against the accused," said Vontimi Prakash, a leader heading another group in Mala Mahanadu. Meanwhile, police said they are investigating the matter as to who had tied up the flexi board and initiate action against the culprits.

Jagan exit good news for Telangana: KCR

Hyderabad:  The jury is still out on how Jaganmohan Reddy's exit from the Congress will affect the party in Andhra Pradesh. But one man celebrating that exit is K. Chandrasekhara Rao or KCR, chief of the Telangana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS).

The TRS chief says Jagan quitting the Congress is good news for Telangana. For, he reckons, YSR's son will weaken the Congress in Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema and so the party will be compelled to grant statehood to Telangana to get votes in this region. "Many MPs, MLAs are openly saying that they will follow Jagan. In that case, if the Congress wants to survive at least in Telangana, they must wake up and deliver Telangana immediately," KCR said.

While he makes his political calculations, KCR is also planning a show of strength with a huge public meeting in Warangal tomorrow. But two weeks before the Srikrishna committee submits its report on the demand for a separate Telangana state, the TRS chief is careful not to be seen inciting violence even as he raises the pitch on his demand to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh and carve out a separate Telangana.

"As agitators, we will say certain things to maintain the pace of the movement, to keep the heat on. It doesn't mean virtual civil war. There may be a law and order problem, a disturbed situation. It is not that we will pick up a gun and fight," says KCR, whose hunger strike last year on the Telangana issue had led to days of unrest and violence in the state.
As the state prepares for the submission of the Telangana report, the TRS is trying to send out a message through its Warangal show of strength, not just to Delhi but also to other players who have started chanting the statehood-for-Telangana mantra in the last one year: That KCR's party is the sole voice of the people of Telangana.

Congress, Jagan vie for foothold

It is learnt that former Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Congress leaders are battling for political supremacy in Kadapa district in the backdrop of the rapidly changing political scenario in the state. The two groups have already chalked out their strategies to be adopted in the district.
Ministers Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, D.L. Ravindra Reddy and Mohammed Ahmedullah reportedly plan to check migrations into Jagan’s camp.
The two groups are reportedly planning to show their supremacy during the Zilla Parishad general body meeting to be held on December 18.
The Jagan group is trying to tie up with opposition parties to launch a scathing attack on the government while the ministers and their followers are reportedly planning to foil Jagan group’s attempts by attending the ZP meeting in large numbers.
Minister for Agriculture Mr Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy will organise a meeting with Congress activists in Pulivendula on December 17 and will attend the ZP meeting the next day.
According to sources, ministers D.L. Ravindra Reddy, Mohammed Ahmedullah and 20-point economic programme committee chairman Mr N. Tulasi Reddy, as well as members of the legislative council will also take part in the ZP meeting.

Huge response to Jagan's tour of Krishna

Supporters accord thunderous welcome to ex-MP in Challapalli and Machilipatnam areas
Young and old, women, students cheer Jagan all along the route
Locals insist on Jagan visiting their villages and addressing meetings
STRIKING A CHORD:Former MP Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy along with Machilipatnam MLA Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) interacting with farmers affected by the recent heavy rains at Gundupalem in Krishna district on Monday.
CHALLAPALLI (Krishna dt.): Congress MLA from Bandar Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) justified his decision to go along with former Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on the ground that it was the unanimous view of his followers and party activists in his constituency.

Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy was accorded a thunderous welcome on the second day of his tour to the rain-affected areas in Challapalli and Machilipatnam areas in the Krishna district, even as Perni Nani joined Jagan's rally when it reached Pata Majeru in his constituency. The MLA asserted that he was taking part in Jagan's tour out of respect for the late YSR.

The reception to Jagan's road show came mostly from the Congress cadres. Young and old, women, students and long-time political activists cheered him all along his route. He was stopped at several places with the locals insisting on his visiting their respective villages and address meetings.

Mr. Nani and told reporters at Bandar that he would sail with his followers' decision of going with Jagan by honouring whatever decision the latter would take in future. He kept silent on his resigning from Congress, saying that he would continue to be an MLA.

Congress leaders who were present included former MLAs Jeshta Ramesh, Jaleel Khan, former Vijayawada Mayor Tadi Sakuntala, former corporator P. Gowtham Reddy.

At Pata Majeru, Nani showed various places along the route to underline the need for assistance to the farmers. In his speeches at Challapalli, Ramanagaram, Lakshmipuram, Lankapalli, Rudravaram and other places during the day, Jagan continued his attack on the Congress government for failing to give assistance to farmers. “There is no government that has not perished when it did not come to the rescue of farmers,” he remarked.

‘Waive loans'

Jagan demanded that the Government waive loans of tenant farmers and provide input subsidies to all affected farmers, as they had lost all their cropthis year.

Jagan issues ultimatum

MACHILIPATNAM: Former Kadpa MP Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday said that he would go on fast for 48 hours with lakhs of farmers and handloom workers if there was no response from the government within a week.

Addressing a gathering at Koneru Centre here today night, Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy said that he would go on a hunger strike for 48 hours at Vijayawada on December 21 and 22 if the State government did not response to the plight of the farmers.

Jagan effect: Congress MLAs under cadre pressure

HYDERABAD: Several Congress legislators are finding it difficult to keep their cadre happy as they are threatening to switch loyalties to former MP Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy's proposed political party.

As Mr. Jagan continued his tour of Krishna district on Monday, Congress MLAs are coming under tremendous pressure from not only their cadres, but from rivals within the party.

In the Assembly lobbies, Congress leaders were seen animatedly discussing the overwhelming response to Mr. Jagan's tour of Krishna district after which Perini Venkataramaiah, MLA from Machilipatnam, announced his decision to support the ex-MP. Mr. Venkataramaiah called on Mr. Jagan in Pathavajeru in Challapalli mandal in Krishna district along with his followers.

Amidst the complex scenario, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy continued his efforts to prevent the flight of party men.

On Monday, Krishna district Minister K. Parthasarathi along with two Jagan loyalists – Jogi Ramesh and Malladi Vishnu met for talks.

In an informal chat with reporters, the Chief Minister said one or two leaders may go with the former MP. “Nothing will happen with that,” he said adding that party affairs and government were two different subjects.

In a related development, Tribal Welfare Minister P. Balaraju met five MLAs from Visakhapatnam to discuss the fallout of proposed Mr. Jagan's ‘Odarpu yatra' in the district from January 3. After the meeting, they met the Chief Minister conveyed their decision to stay away from the yatra. However, indications suggest that the grassroots level workers were in no mood to honour the request of their MLAs not to participate in the yatra.

Leaders unsure

“We decided against participating in the yatra but are not sure about our supporters,” an MLA from Visakhapatnam remarked.

Congress MLAs said the Jagan factor was haunting leaders from all the three regions. A Congress MLA from north coastal Andhra feared that his supporters would not hesitate to ditch him, if he failed to take a decision soon.

Rivalry within the Congress was making matters worse for the legislators, as they were waiting for an opportune time to switch sides.

Tv9 - Perni Nani to meet YS Jagan

Y S JAGAN MOHAN REDDY’S YATRA AND CONGRESS MUSINGS IN ANDHRA PRADESH

DID JAGAN CONTINUE MORE....
In a defiant mood , son of  late Chief minister Y S Rajashekhar Reddy , Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to start his Odarpu yatra ( a tour aimed at consoling the families of those who lost  their lives as they could not bear the news of the tragic demise of YSR ) in few hours of time. Quite uncharacteristic of Congress culture, YS Jagan who himself a member of Loksabha from Cuddapah publicly stated that Sonia Gandhi was not in favour of his yatra. In an open letter to people released yesterday, Jagan also revealed that Sonia Gandhi suggested him to hold a meeting with the families of the deceased at one place and extend economic help. Jagan did not like the idea. Daring a possible action by the high command, Jagan, determined to inherit the legacy of his charismatic father, is all prepared for a show down. Unless a last minute rapprochement is worked out between Jagan and Congress high command, the congressmen in the state have to face an acid test to choose between Jagan and the party.
But, no one can deny the possibility of a last minute truce as there are compulsions on both sides. The high command knows pretty well that the state government led by it enjoys only slender majority. Any small revolt in the legislature party can upset the party and the government in the state. Jaganmohan Reddy also is aware of the fact that he no longer enjoys the same support from the ministers and legislators as he did immediately after his father’s death.  Despite these mutual compulsions, the political situation is pregnant with possibilities in any direction.
The letter from Jagan is politically clear and is candid in what it wants to convey. What made Jagan to take such a drastic step of defying party high command? This is a hot topic in the political circles today. The loyalists of Jagan in private talk with this author make interesting arguments. Firstly, Jagan is not going to get the chief minister post till 2014. Nobody can assure power for Congress in 2014 also. Even if the Congress retains power, it is difficult to imagine that the internal dynamics of state congress will allow Jagan to get the coveted position. Jagan’s camp also fears that incase the state is bifurcated; the political configuration will undergo a drastic change making it much more difficult for Jagan to accomplish his dream. The choice of the timing of the defied yatra is also a clever and politically calculated decision according to the Jagan supporters. Tomorrow is the first birthday of the late leader after his tragic death. Jagan wants to engage high command with YSR sentiment. Thus, the birthday of the late leader perfectly fits into the scheme of things scripted by the Jagan camp. The Srikrishna committee is scheduled to submit its report any time before December, 2010. The schedule for by-elections in Telangana has begun. The cabinet reshuffle may take place after the by-polls. These events will alter the contours of political debate in the state. The political agenda will be completely different after Srikrishna committee report submits its report anytime before December 2010. The Telangana or united Andhra Pradesh sentiment will dominate YSR sentiment. Jagan would like to steal the show if the centre decides to divide the state. Keeping this in view, he joined the TDP members in Loksabha in support of united state.  Meanwhile, the rollback or partial withdrawal of many a welfare schemes introduced by YSR for whatever may be the reason is expected to come in handy for Jagan. He has already made this an issue. In fact, this will be the main slogan of Jagan in case he is compelled to leave the party.
But, high command seems to have a completely different view on the moves and actions of Jagan camp. Jagan’s detractors are feeding the High command with the information about Jagan and his actions perhaps both in English and Italian. The maneuvers of Jagan camp ever since he was denied the chief minister post despite the open support of overwhelming number of MLAs give enough scope for suspicion. Rosaiah government was installed in the state by the high command. Therefore, it wants to back him to the hilt. Any attempt to disturb or destabilize it is seen as defiance by the high command. Jaganmohan Reddy did nothing to prove that he abides by the choice of the high command on the leadership issue. In fact, he used every opportunity to indirectly attack Rosaiah led congress government. The high command obviously did not like the de facto opposition role played by Jaganmohan Reddy. The congress high command seems to have felt that Jagan will use the congress party to emerge as a strong leader and then raise the banner of revolt.
The congress high command is in fact not against the content of Jagan’s yatra. The problem is only with the form and the context in which it is contemplated. There is no need for a yatra to console anybody. Therefore no one takes the yatra as an individual act performed by a son in memory of his father. Jagan camp wants everybody to believe this unbelievable thesis. Not even a political novice will believe it, leave alone the high command. Jagan’s proximity with Gali Janardhan Reddy, the Karnataka minister and the owner of the controversial mining activity, did not go well with the party high command. It is clear now, not just the Jagan camp, the high command is also preparing itself for any eventuality. The Sonia – chiranjeevi meeting and the possible alliance between congress and Prajarajyam party in the coming elections to local bodies are all part of this preparation. In the absence of any charismatic leader, chiranjeevi is considered as a possible choice. The congress high command is also confident that many MLAs may not actually sail with Jagan. How far this expectation comes true will only be known in the next few days. The crocodile is powerful as long as it is in water similarly leaders are powerful as long as they are in the party fold. The party structure is a formidable infrastructure for any politician to carry out his activity. The political history tells us that many charismatic leaders could not make ahead way once they leave the party. Dr.M.Chenna Reddy, K.Brahmanada Reddy, Devaraj Urs, karunakaran, kalyan singh, Uma Bharati etc. are few examples. But, Jagan camp cites the example of Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar. But, the social base of Sharad Pawar’s politics and the political context in which Mamata operates cannot be compared with the political situation in Andhra Pradesh. It should also be remembered that Jagan’s charisma is not self-made. He would only like to inherit the charisma of his late father. Precisely with this reason, his letter issues a self-certification that he not only shares the blood of his father but inherits his nature too. Despite all this, it is also true that Jagan enjoys the benefit of his father’s charisma. Jagan wants to make the hay while the sun shines. Many anxious moments have to pass before the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh provides an answer to this. Jagan took a gamble. Will it pay off or not is something to be avidly watched?

Jaganmohan Reddy to launch new party in next 45 days

Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, who quit as MP and resigned from the Congress recently, announced on Tuesday that he would float a new party within the next 45 days, to uphold the self-respect of the people.
Expressing the confidence that his party (which he did not name) would gain power in 2014, Mr. Reddy said at a meeting of his followers and YSR fans of Simhadripuram mandal in Pulivendula that his party would bring back the "golden rule" of his father, late Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR).
His party would continue in power for at least three decades and take up welfare programmes in such a manner that people would remember YSR for the next 100 years, he said.
Claiming that the entire nation was looking at the ensuing by-elections in Kadapa district, he described the bypolls to Pulivendula Assembly constituency and the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat as the semi-finals and the 2014 general elections as finals.
“Looking back at the events during the last 15 months, I find that I did not commit any mistake", Mr. Reddy asserted and said the people were aware of who was responsible for his decision to quit Congress.
He said he and mother Vijayamma, who resigned the Pulivendula Assembly seat, went to New Delhi three times against their conscious to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi, but the latter was not convinced about their stand (on Odarpu yatra) and hence he lost patience.
The former MP accused Ms. Sonia Gandhi of using his uncle and Kadapa MLC Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy as a pawn to split YSR's family. His repeated appeals to Mr. Vivekananda Reddy to stand by him were not fruitful.
Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy said he never tried to topple the Government though he had the support of 150 MLAs, but exercised restraint as he stood for values. He banked on the people’s support and blessings of YSR and God and his party flag would fly high atop all households.
Expressing his resolve to continue his Odarpu yatra, he asked his followers to be prepared to face any hardships that would follow in the the next three years.

How many MLAs support Jagan's new party?

How many MLA's support Jagan new party?

Finally expectation came true. Congress MP from Kadapa Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday resigned from his MP seat, expressing anguish over the Congress high command’s attempt to isolate him and split his family.

Jagan faxed his letter to Lok Sabha Speaker and also party president Sonia Gandhi. His mother Y S Vijayalakshmi, who represents Pulivendula assembly constituency in Kadapa, is also believed to have resigned from her assembly membership. Both of them are also likely to quit the party post.

Y S Jaganmohan Reddy told to his followers clearly that the high command is planning to kick him out. So, it is better to resign than being shunted out, say sources close to Jagan. Besides, he also felt upset with the high command inviting Praja Rajyam Party to join the cabinet.

Jagan have support of at least two dozen Congress party MLAs. The Congress has already geared itself up for any eventuality and is likely to seek support of PRP & Majlis Ittehad-e-Musalameen.

His supporters have taken to streets in Hyderabad. They said that there is no immediate plan to float a new party. He is going to his father’s grave and at present is not likely to destabilize the government.

There is a big question in all the people, How many MLA's support Jagan new party?

YS Jagan's new party Sonta Agenda

Jagan Mohan all set to resume his yatra

Despite the reservations of the party high command, Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is set to resume his controversial 'Odarpu yatra' in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday.

Jagan's yatra would continue and it has nothing to do with the party high command's offer of financial assistance to the families of those who died following the death of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy last year, Ambati Rambabu, a close confidante of the Kadapa MP, said on Thursday.

"What is the need to stop the yatra? How high command's decision and Jagan's yatra are related? Odarpu yatra is sentimental," Ambati Rambabu said in Tirupati.

"Odarpu yatra would start as per scheduled. I feel it is the responsibility of Jagan to continue the yatra till the last family is consoled," he added.
Jagan would console 41 families during his 15-day tour in Prakasam district, sources said.

State Mines Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, a close relative of the YSR family, said the yatra in Prakasam would last for 15 days.

Jagan started the 'odarpu yatra' in May to console the family members of those who died following the death of his father in West Godavari district last year.

Who is Jagan Mohan Reddy

Thrst into political limelight after the death of his father YSR in an air crash last year, Yeduguri Sandinti Jagan Mohan Reddy never hid his ambition to become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, fuelling troubles for both the faction-ridden state Congress unit and party high command with his defiant attitude.

From a businessman to a Lok Sabha MP from his family pocketborough of Kadapa, his rise was meteoric -- thanks to his father late YS Rajasekhara Reddy's legacy and his popularity in Andhra Pradesh.

The 37-year-old, who maintained a low profile till his father's death despite becoming an MP, was forced to plunge into active politics by his father's supporters in the party.

Called 'Jagan Anna' by his followers, he drew crowds and used his powerful media, a 24-hour news channel and a mass circulation newspaper, to propagate his views and attack the Rosaiah government that took charge after YSR's death.
There was a campaign to install him as the Chief Minister after his father's death on September 2, 2009. Jagan also never said publicly that he was not in the race to succeed YSR.

Jagan was maintaining silence till he was told by Sonia Gandhi that she will decide the next chief minister of Andhra Pradesh in October last year and started embarrassing the High Command whenever he got a chance.

A successful businessman who built a media empire in just five years, Jagan Mohan wanted instant results. His impatience reflected in his open use of his media to flay the functioning of Rosaiah government and siding with TDP MPs in Parliament against the formation of a separate Telangana state.

After getting ample hints that the Congress High Command is in no mood to anoint him as YSR's successor, Jagan undertook the controversial 'Odarpu Yatra' to console the families of those who died or allegedly committed suicide after hearing the news of the death of his father.

When he decided to tour sensitive Telangana region, the high command asked him not to do so fearing backlash. But Jagan went ahead with the yatra and reached Mahabubnagar. When
violence erupted there, he was forced to return to Hyderabad.

From then, Jagan was defiant and just met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi once after that.

He defied her directives, went ahead with Odarpu Yatra in July 2010 and has been avoiding visiting Delhi since then.

Just a fortnight ago, his Sakshi channel launched an attack against Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress. The party had expressed strong disapproval of the TV programme but no action was taken against him.

Before entering politics too, Jagan had his fair share of controversies. The allotment of 487 acres of land in March 2007 to Raghuram Cements, which had Jagan as one of its directors, was criticised by the opposition parties.

Jagan tops a list of taxpayer politicians in 2009-10. He had paid Rs. 2.92 lakh tax for financial year 2008-09 but Rs. 6.6 crore advance tax in the first six months of this year, projecting a tax outgo of Rs. 22 crore with his personal income expected to cross Rs. 70 crore in 2009-10.

Jagan party within a week

The `Jaganaut' is all set to roll. To be called either YSR Congress Party or YSR Rashtriya Congress Party, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy will announce the name of his party at a press conference in the state capital in less than a week's time.

According to sources in the Jagan camp, the new party will be launched from Idupulapaya in Kadapa district in the first week of February. "The groundwork for the launch of the party has already begun and the objectives of the party are being worked out," the sources said.

Apart from the MPs and MLAs who are with Jagan, senior Congress leaders such as Ambati Rambabu (suspended APCC general secretary), Konatala Ramakrishna (former Congress minister) Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy (suspended PCC secretary) Y Gopal Reddy (suspended Nellore district Congress president), Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy (former TTD trust board member) and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy (former TTD chairman) are actively involved in the pre-launch work of the new party.

Since YSR Congress is one of the names that has been shortlisted for the party, Jagan representatives are in touch with Kolisetty Shiva Kumar, a YSR loyalist from Kadapa who has registered a party by that name in September last year and is its founder president. However, the catch is that Shiva Kumar wants a key post for himself and due recognition for "leaders of his party.'' "I am an ardent follower of YSR. To ensure that his dreams are realised, I want due importance in the party. This is the only condition I set to the representatives of Jagan," Shiva Kumar told TOI.

As per indications available, Jagan wants to wean away the BC leaders and workers from the Congress and the TDP by offering them 50 per cent of the seats in the ensuing elections to the local bodies."Backward Castes have got a raw deal in the Kiran Kumar Reddy cabinet, both in terms of numbers and allocation of portfolios. So our leaders wants to assure them that his party would take care of their interests on the basis of the BC population in the various constituencies," an aide of Jagan told TOI.

Jagan's approach to Telangana will be neutral. The party will not touch upon the subject of either Telangana or united Andhra. "We are not in a position either to stall or aid the process of creation of Telangana. If the state is united, it is ok. If it is bifurcated, we will form the party in both the regions," the aide added.

Though initially upset by the appointment of a Rayalaseema Reddy as CM, the bickerings in the cabinet over the distribution of portfolios seem to have enthused the Jagan camp. "The cracks that developed in the cabinet are irreparable. The number of MLAs who are in touch with Jagan is on the rise after the cabinet fiasco by the chief minister," sources in the Jagan camp claimed.

The sources also said Jagan will not be the only one to enter the assembly in the next byelections. "At least half a dozen MLAs, such as Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, Pilli Subash Chandra Bose, Ghandikota Srikanth Reddy and B Gurnatha Reddy are expected to resign from the assembly and return to the House as the members of the new party," the sources said. According to sources, some resignations from among the MPs also could not be ruled out.

Jagan's new party soon, plans tie up with Chiru

Following the resignation of Jaganmohan Reddy from Congress, rumors spread over Andhra Pradesh that Jagan may tie up with actor-turned politician Chiranjeevi's party Praja Rajyam.

In a dramatic move, son of former Chief Minister YS Rajashekhara Reddy, Jaganmohan resigned from Congress on Monday, Nov 29. His mother Vijayamma also resigned the MLA post. Jaganmohan resigns, plans to launch party

In an open letter to Sonia Gandhi, Jagan accused that AICC has insulted him repeatedly for last 14 months and he has become a victim of dirty politics from his own party.

It is expected that Jaganmohan may announce the launch of his own political party in coming days. Sources close to Jagan reported that the new party may be named as YSR Congress.

Meanwhile, Jagan's supporters have started celebrations in different parts of Andhra Pradesh. They are all set to greet the new party headed by great leader YSR's son.

YS Jagan's new party name problems

YS Jagan's new party name problems
Even as the Congress MP from the Kadapa district, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is in a dilemma regarding his position in the Congress party and also the fact that the Congress High Command is shunting away YS Jagan day by day, he is contemplating about the pros and cons of new party.

According to sources, YS Jagan, the night before, has discussed the pros and cons of forming a new party with his close aides and leaders.

Apparently some people are averse to the formation of a new party while some supported it. Some people like Adinarayana Reddy have listed the 'cons' about the formation of new party.

One of the main disadvantage is forming new party is that YS Jagan may not get good support in the Telangana region, North Andhra region etc. His support is likely to be limited to Kadapa, Kurnool, Nellore and Ananthpur districts.

However some other leaders say that even if YS Jagan's party manages to bag around 30-40 MLA seats then he would be a kingmaker and the Congress High Command would make him the chief minister just like how Chenna Reddy became to chief minister after forming a separate party and later uniting his party again with the Congress in 1970's.

The leaders who want YS Jagan to form a new party have also said that he should make his supporting leaders like Adinarayana Reddy, Konda Surekha etc to resign from the MLA seats and thereby bringing down the Rosaiah's government.

They have even proposed names for the party like Indira Congress, Rajiv Congress, YSR Congress etc. And YS Jagan is weighing all his options and it may not be long before the state goes for polls again.

Jagan’s loyalists want new party? Is Jagan is in same mood or not?

Supporters and fans of Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, want him to float a new regional outfit to take on both the Congress and Telugu Desam in the state.
On Sunday, supporters from Darsi constituency in Prakasam district took out a rally to Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s residence in Banjara Hills and shouted slogans against the Congress. They went so far as to warn the Congress that if it ignores Mr Jagan, the fortunes of the party in Andhra Pradesh will soon become like Bihar. They urged Mr Jagan to float a party to teach the Congress a lesson for sidelining him.
Mr Bharath Reddy, and Mr K. Balaraju, B.Tech students from Darsi, who were part of the rally, told newsmen that Mr Jagan will not get the recognition that is due to him as long as he continues in the Congress. If he floats a regional outfit, students, youth, SCs, Muslim and Christian minorities will support it, they said. The rallyists were later allowed into the house to meet Mr Jagan.
Meanwhile, there is speculation in the media that Mr Jagan will leave for Delhi on Monday and submit his resignation from the Congress primary membership and as Kadapa Lok Sabha member.
However, Mr Ambati Rambabu, former MLA and a close associate of Mr Reddy, denied any such move.

YSR Congress Party’, Jagan’s new political party?

Hyderabad – There is a buzz in the state over the YS. Jagan’s new political party, as EC received an application for registering ‘YSR Congress Party’.
YS. Jaganmohan Reddy has already got good support from few top leaders of Congress. No official news yet announced by YS Jagan over this new party.
YSR Congress Party, a party name for what the application has been sent to EC. EC authorities have confirmed this news that a person hailed from Rayalaseema area named Konda Reddy has applied for ‘YSR Congress Party’.

YSR Congress Party can clearly come true, as YS Jagan clearly faced off with Congress high command big time in recent days.
Congress friendship with Megastar, Sonia Gandhi’s key discussions with Chiru clearly shows us that Congress expected this move from Jagan long ago.
Jagan might announce his new party soon, and already people like Konda Surekha were in support of YS. Jagan
YSR Congress Party might be a myth a couple of weeks ago, and not now anymore!
